Who Are Zahid and Shahid Yaqoob?

• Zahid Yaqoob is listed on dozens of dissolved companies, including First Halal UK Ltd, Mecca-Cola Distribution UK Ltd, and Kingdom Investments Ltd. He previously operated from multiple Birmingham addresses.
• Shahid Yaqoob is currently linked to Global Halal (Retail) Ltd, which trades under the name of National Halal Food Group. He serves as a public-facing operations lead and contact for multiple halal businesses in the West Midlands.
• Deborah Angur was appointed as a director following Zahid’s resignation from some entities, notably Global Halal (Retail) Ltd, which remains operational.

The Halal Front: Misused Trust

What makes this story especially disturbing is the targeting of halal supply chains, where trust and certification are core pillars. Names like “Halal Meat Co.” and “Halal World” evoke reliability and religious integrity. But instead, many of these operations became vehicles for financial evasion, with documented cases of:
